SEAGULL

I was walking on the beach this day and was very lucky to catch this seagull in flight. It was a fantastic moment. I just knew I had gotten a good photo, even though it's slightly out of focus. Oh, well.

APPLES

It's that time of year again. A basket full of red, juicy apples is a sure sign that autumn has arrived.

POWDER POINT BRIDGE

This is a pastel painting I just finished of the Powder Point Bridge, a long wooden bridge that crosses Duxbury Bay to the ocean. The photo was taken very early in the morning so that I could capture this view with no cars. The lighting was beautiful -- I couldn't resist.

DUXBURY SUNSET

We had dinner on the beach the other night, and the sunset was beautiful. I brought my camera and tripod to take some photos. The scene of the dunes taken from the beach was really pretty, but I was really excited about the sunset over the bay taken from atop the first crossover. That's the Powder Point Bridge in the distance.

WHALE WATCH

Went on a whale watch yesterday -- a beautiful summer day. We saw many whales, most especially three whales travelling together. They weren't very active, just swimming arouund. It was fascinating.

UNDER THE APPLE TREE

This photo was taken through my car window during a torrential rain storm. The rain was streaming down the window, and I couldn't get out of the car, so I decided to take this photo anyway, from inside the car.

WORLD'S END SUNRISE

I took a photo workshop class that had me awake at 3 a.m. to go to World's End to shoot the sunrise. At first I though I was crazy, but once there I was ready for action. It was a wonderful experience being out at that hour of the morning. I must say it was a first.

FLAG IN THE DUNES

We really do have the most impressive country flag. It takes my breath away when I see it flying alone, and I'm filled with pride.

THROUGH THE DUNES

These two photos are of the same dune path taken on the same day. It was a sunny day with huge cumulus clouds. Every time the sun went behind a cloud, the mood of the day changed.

CAN YOU FEEL THIS DAY?

This lady was enjoying some quiet time by the bay in Duxbury on an utterly perfect day -- mid 70s, NO humidity, slight breeze -- just perfect.

THE JETTY BRIDGE

Went to Plymouth last evening and took this photo of the bridge that connects to the long stone jetty that sticks out into Plymouth Harbor. It's a very nice walk after dinner at The Lobster Hut. That is Clark's Island and Bug Light in the distance.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

This day was absolutely a 10+. Just look at the colors of the ocean and sky. It was great!.

MORE DINGHY PHOTOS

I took these photos in Duxbury at the boat yard one morning. Fun!

A SPECIAL PLACE

This dock is on our land in upstate New York. All the young cousins love to catch sunfish off this dock. They are instantly gratified because the fish just about jump right out of the water and go for their bait. The fish are always thrown back in the water. It can entertain the children for hours on end.

GRAY DINGHY

What can I say? I love dinghies! This one almost looks like a black & white surrounded by soft green grass.

BICYCLING ON THE CHARLES

This was a beautiful day in early summer last year. The cyclists and sailboats were all out in full force. We spent a lot of time walking along the Charles River. There were so many sights to photograph that day!

LILACS

Two weeks ago, I moved my daughter home from college (Univ. of Rochester), and a nearby park had a lilac festival. There were many, many trees and varieties of lilacs. It was really beautiful. Here are some photos to share.

PHOTO FRIDAY - RELAXATION

We love to hike up to the top of the hill by the potato farm at our property in upstate New York. The view is wonderful, and the conversations can't be beat!

WHAT A DAY!

What a day today was! Gorgeous weather. I was taking photos from Duxbury to Scituate. The rope is at the Millwharf in Scituate, and the daffodils are along the fence at the Duxbury Country Club.

MARSHFIELD BEACH

I took a walk one day from Duxbury Beach down to the Marshfield end during the off-season. It was a very dark and ominous day -- great for photo taking. I shot many photos, one of which this painting is based on.

ABSTRACT FRUIT

When I took my daughter to visit colleges, one of the places we went to was Princeton Universitiy. On their campus was this sculpture with fruit and flaking green paint. I took a close-up photo of it and decided to give it whirl with the pastels. I think it's interesting, maybe not frameable, but interesting. It was a lot of fun because I just got to play with the colors.

SUNSET CLAMMERS

It's almost that time of year again. But with the current weather conditions, I have my doubts. I really enjoy driving over the Powder Point Bridge and seeing all the clammers out there. They have that clamming posture that can't be missed.

HANDS

This is my daughter's hand holding the hand of her first niece, our first grandchild, when she was just 3 months old. I just love babies' little hands.

NEW ARTWORK

I've been busy in the studio this winter. Today, I photographed some pieces with my new camera to share. The studio is fun, but it will be nice to paint outside soon.

THINK SPRING!

Maybe if we think spring, it will actually happen! Soon would be nice. I took this photo in upstate New York last summer when we were there for a wedding. This is the kind of sky that makes me feel good and want to be outside -- with my camera, of course.

QUILT

I'm playing with my new digital SLR camera and took this photo of a quilt that I made years ago. I haven't quilted since I took up photography, but I do miss it. There just aren't enough hours in my days! Sigh.

WHAT'S FOR BREAKFAST?

This is our campfire and cooktop when we camp at our property in Vermont. Very primitive!
