PHOTO FRIDAY - RELAXATION

We love to hike up to the top of the hill by the potato farm at our property in upstate New York. The view is wonderful, and the conversations can't be beat!

WHAT A DAY!

What a day today was! Gorgeous weather. I was taking photos from Duxbury to Scituate. The rope is at the Millwharf in Scituate, and the daffodils are along the fence at the Duxbury Country Club.

MARSHFIELD BEACH

I took a walk one day from Duxbury Beach down to the Marshfield end during the off-season. It was a very dark and ominous day -- great for photo taking. I shot many photos, one of which this painting is based on.

ABSTRACT FRUIT

When I took my daughter to visit colleges, one of the places we went to was Princeton Universitiy. On their campus was this sculpture with fruit and flaking green paint. I took a close-up photo of it and decided to give it whirl with the pastels. I think it's interesting, maybe not frameable, but interesting. It was a lot of fun because I just got to play with the colors.

SUNSET CLAMMERS

It's almost that time of year again. But with the current weather conditions, I have my doubts. I really enjoy driving over the Powder Point Bridge and seeing all the clammers out there. They have that clamming posture that can't be missed.

HANDS

This is my daughter's hand holding the hand of her first niece, our first grandchild, when she was just 3 months old. I just love babies' little hands.

NEW ARTWORK

I've been busy in the studio this winter. Today, I photographed some pieces with my new camera to share. The studio is fun, but it will be nice to paint outside soon.

THINK SPRING!

Maybe if we think spring, it will actually happen! Soon would be nice. I took this photo in upstate New York last summer when we were there for a wedding. This is the kind of sky that makes me feel good and want to be outside -- with my camera, of course.

QUILT

I'm playing with my new digital SLR camera and took this photo of a quilt that I made years ago. I haven't quilted since I took up photography, but I do miss it. There just aren't enough hours in my days! Sigh.
