Don't hate me, but I love the winter! Especially after a huge snowfall. I make sure I have plenty of food, wine and wood for the fire so I can hunker down and enjoy the scenery. I grab my camera and go out for a long walk. It's so quiet with very little traffic on the roads. This week's Photo Sunday challenge is "Road", so I thought I'd begin the season early with these photos.

EEK, snow!!! not my favorite time, but I do understand the quiet. I am always amazed at standing outside after a storm and it is soooo quiet.

We love winter here also. I just wish we could get more snow for x-c skiing. It seems like the last few years, every time we get enough inches, the following weekend it warms up and rains.

I know what you mean. We live on the coast, and the snow often turns to rain before it stops. My husband and I like to x-c ski, too, and seldom get to go. It's frustrating.
